My Music Is Dead

Most of what I pretentiously referred to as “my music” didn’t make it onto the American charts, but was widely played in Canada. Must have something to do with me being Canadian, and liking Canadian bands. Weird, eh?

Yes, I said “eh”. Get over it already.

This is the first post I’ve made in awhile. And I wish it wasn’t this post.
But goddammit, I’m somewhat upset. Pissed off. Protective. Total Mama Bear mode. If I could, I’d hover.
I have to explain to my son, again, that someone who was a part of his life is no longer going to see him. [...]

Top 6 Creepifying Moments in Star Trek: TNG

I really don’t have the energy to pump out a post with substance today. I feel like someone ran me over with a steamroller, then backed up a few times and kicked me in the teeth for good measure. I’m running off DayQuil and caffeine-laden drinks at the moment, so my energy’s a bit low. [...]

Doctor Courage and the Gateway to Dawn

My last post said “indefinite hiatus”. I know. I wrote it, after all.
It took two days of no writing for me to go batshit. It took one day of reading novels to realize that I can’t give up.
It also took ol’ Shrivel Tits at Are You Gonna Eat That? flat-out denying me the right to [...]

A Morphematics PSA: Indefinite Hiatus

It’s become clear to me over the last little bit that I cannot be both mother and writer.
I have too much shit to do with the kids, and they have to take priority.
With that said, a few things have to go. Others have to change.
Unfortunately, this blog is one of them. So Morphematics is now [...]

Father’s Day: A Bitter Tale

To begin on a positive note: Happy Father’s Day to my husband, a father who deserves to have a day in his honor. I was ecstatic to give him something nice to wake up to: breakfast in bed, a homemade card, one of his favorite movies on TV, and very few chores [...]

Speak To Me Of Literature: My Summer Reading List

Literaturially speaking, I’m in a rut.
I’m a fantasy girl, (though given my last few offerings of fiction here on Morphematics, you’d never say so) and I rarely branch out of that. I’m comfortable with the fantasy genre. I know it, it knows me. We’ve been in a steady relationship for years and years and years. [...]

I Wanna Do Laser: A Contest Entry

So Chuck Wendig has this contest thing. Some people wrote American Gladiator Werewolves porn, some people made up stories about exploding fireworks. Some photoshopped stuff together. Me, I wrote what could laughably be called a mob story. There were rules and sundry attached, like 1,000 words, that must include the phrase “I wanna do laser”. [...]

Diceplay: Themes and Mission Statements

The design document for Brimstone is complete. The Introduction chapter of the book is only missing the jargon and suggested works for inspiration section. My print-out maps are marked up with ideas, places, jurisdictions, hot spots and Bad Places To Go. Character creation is in the works. Slowly but surely, this bitch is coming together [...]

An Oil Spill PSA: Fuck Off With Misplaced Blame

I wasn’t going to write this post. I swear I wasn’t. I was going to just let it slide. Water, duck’s back. You get the point. It’s not going to injure me any if I don’t blog it. In fact, it’ll probably be better all around if I just don’t.  So I probably shouldn’t.
But the [...]
